Bodies of five children found in German

The bodies of the children – aged 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8 – were later found in a run-down flat by shocked cops in Solingen, western Germany.

According to broadcaster RTL, the children‘s older brother, 11, watched the mother, 27, allegedly carry out the horrific killings.

The mum – named as Christiane K in German media – then took him on a train journey before she got off at Dusseldorf and threw herself on the tracks,The Sun reports.

‘Aggressive’: China fronts up to India

New Delhi is believed to have rushed 800 troops to the Indian side of Pangong Tso Lake, some 4200m above sea level, in response to incursions by Beijing’s forces.

“Indian troops pre-empted this PLA activity on the southern bank of Pangong Tso Lake, undertook measures to strengthen our positions and thwart Chinese intentions to unilaterally change facts on the ground,” an Indian Army statement asserts.

The lake forms part of the boundary between India and occupied Tibet, which was invaded by overwhelming Chinese forces in 1950. It’s leader, the Dalai Lama, has been in enforced exile ever since.

Russian doctors pull 1.2-metre snake from woman’s mouth

The snake had reportedly slithered inside the woman while she was asleep in the backyard of her home in the village of Levashi, Dagestan, 7 News reported.

The woman was taken to hospital and placed under general anaesthetic after feeling unwell.

In the footage doctors can be seen slowly removing the snake after inserting a tube down her throat.

A male doctor off-camera says, “Let’s see what this is.”

A female doctor grabs the snake as its full length is revealed, and the medical staff react in horror.

The snake is then dropped into a bucket.

Locals in the Republic of Dagestan, a Russian republic on the Caspian Sea, reportedly say such incidents have been known to happen from time to time.

Older citizens are said to warn the young not to sleep outside because of the risk of snakes climbing into their mouths.

China unleashes ‘carrier killer’ on US

China says two missiles of different types were launched on Thursday. Both were ballistic, meaning a large rocket boosts its warhead into space before it separates and glides back down to its target. As they travel at more than 10 times the speed of sound, the warheads are much harder to intercept than cruise missiles.

One missile, a DF-26B, was reportedly launched from the northern Chinese province of Qinghai. The second, a DF-21D, was fired from the eastern province of Zhejiang.

Both converged on a simulated target in the South China Sea off the coast of Hainan Island.

Scott Morrison pushed for interstate borders to reopen by Christmas

Mr Morrison made it clear on Friday he believes the downward trajectory of virus cases means states should consider opening up for the holiday period.

“Well look, I believe we can, domestically,” he said about the Christmas travel date, Seven News reports.

“I’d love to say we could do it internationally but I don’t think I can give you that pledge internationally.

“I hope that changes but based on the current evidence that doesn’t look likely.”
